Fight with Officers in Nyack over DWI Arrest

He was picked up by Orangetown police.

NYACK, NY — A 27-year-old fought with police who tried to arrest him for DWI in Nyack, Orangetown police reported.

Officers stopped Brian Gonzalez on Main Street at 2:34 a.m. Dec. 21 for a traffic violation, and, police said, he showed many signs of intoxication including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and boozy breath.He failed several field sobriety tests, they said.

When they tried to arrest him he began to fight, they said.

He was subdued and taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters, where he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

He is due in Nyack village court to answer a felony charge of driving while intoxicated and also a misdemeanor charge for resisting arrest.
