Flood Warning Issued For Rockland County

About three inches of rain have already fallen, the National Weather Service said.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — There is a flood warning in effect for Rockland until 10:45 a.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service cited the Mahwah River in Suffern.

* At 405 AM EDT, reporting gauges indicate the Mahwah River at Suffern remains above flood stage. The river has reached 5.1 ft, and flood stage is 4.0 ft. The river will continue to rise this morning as rain continues. Around three inches of rain have already fallen.
* Additional small stream and poor drainage flooding can be expected within the warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
