Former TZ Bridge Worker Suing Construction Companies

He was sent to one of the construction barges in bad weather, the suit states.

A former new worker on the new bridge over the Hudson River has filed suit in federal court alleging negligence that caused his paralysis.

Richard Downing is suing Tappan Zee Constructors and Illinois-based Traylor Bros., according to lohud.com.

In July, Downing was working on a tugboat and was allegedly ordered onto a barge that was then pushed into hazardous weather conditions.

Lohud.com said Downing sustained injuries to his spinal cord and back, which caused his paralysis.
