Freeze On The Way: Nyack's Work Week Weather

PIERMONT, NY — Monday's mild weather is 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit above normal for early November. But things will be dropping through the work week. By Friday night, we'll be shivering in temps 15-20 degrees below normal.

"Exactly how potent this cold shot is… needs to be ironed out," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "However, come Friday night… lows in the low to mid 20s, and highs by Saturday in the mid to upper 30s are a possibility. We’ve been spoiled for many weeks with mild weather, winter’s chill may not be far down the road."

Here's what the National Weather Service predicts for Rockland County:

• Today-Showers. Areas of drizzle late this morning, then a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Temperature falling into the upper 50s this afternoon. Southwest winds around 5 mph, becoming west 10 to 15 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 90 percent.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Cooler with lows in the upper 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain in the evening. Lows in the mid 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Wednesday-Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the morning.
• Wednesday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. Thursday Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s
• Friday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s. Temperature falling into the upper 30s in the afternoon
• Friday Night-Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 20s.
