Hazardous Weather Outlook Friday Afternoon: NWS

Be wary of slippery conditions if even light rain develops, the National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday afternoon in Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties.

There are still some temperatures that are just below freezing across higher elevations and some parts in Southeast New York, Northeast New Jersey and interior Southwest Connecticut. There is a chance for some light freezing rain or freezing drizzle in these areas, with overall patchy coverage until early this afternoon. This could leave a light glaze of ice in spots, with locally slippery conditions especially in the higher elevations. Drivers in these areas should exercise extra caution if any light precipitation develops.
