Hazardous Weather Outlook For Rockland County

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlooks for Rockland County, as well as Dutchess, Ulster Orange, Putnam and Westchester.

Showers and thunderstorms late today into this evening may produce wind gusts approaching severe limits and locally heavy rainfall.

Areas closest to New York City and northern New Jersey have a higher probability for widespread hazardous weather, the NWS said.

For southern Westchester, and Bergen and Passaic counties in New Jersey, "an isolated tornado is not out of the question."

In Dutchess and Ulster, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected Thursday afternoon through the night. There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall across most of the region, resulting in potential for scattered flash flooding and minor flooding of urban, poor drainage and low lying areas. Areas that receive repeated thunderstorms will be most susceptible to flash flooding.
