Hot Dog Eating Contest To Benefit Hi-Tor Shelter

The owner of the bar is hoping to raise more money than last year.

NYACK, NY — A hot dog eating contest Saturday will benefit Hi-Tor Animal Care Shelter in Pomona. The Local Tap House of Nyack will be the site of the fundraiser which will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25.

Last year, the bar’s owner — Travis Koester — raised $2,500 and hopes to raise $3,500 this time around, the Journal News said.

It will cost $20 attend, with the contest starting at 3 p.m. and a raffle taking place at 4 p.m.
