House Fire In West Nyack Kills One
Clarkstown police said the report of a fire came in at 5:50 a.m.
WEST NYACK, NY — A fire on Wheeler Place in West Nyack killed a woman on Tuesday. Clarkstown police said the report of a fire came in at 5:50 a.m. When officers arrived, the fire and smoke were so heavy they could not gain entrance.
The West Nyack Fire Department fought the blaze and made entry into the home where they located one victim, a woman, and extinguished the fire, police said. Her identification will be released upon notification of next of kin.
The fatal fire at 9 Wheeler Place is being investigated by the Clarkstown Detective Bureau.
