The work week starts with another hot, humid, hazy day in the Hudson Valley.

“The atmospheric instability that comes along with weather like this, always leaves the potential on the table… even if it is minimal,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “We do this all again on Tuesday… possibly setting the stage for a heat wave. The definition of a ‘heat wave’ is 3 consecutive days of temperatures at or above 90°. It’s going to be close, but it would be an interesting statistic to go all summer without reaching 90°… then hitting 90° on 3 consecutive days. The weather never ceases to amaze.”

After that, relief is in sight, as a front pushes the humidity out and brings cooler temperatures in, possibly through Friday, forecasters say.
