Hudson Valley Forecast: Stormy Weather, Lower Temps
Hazardous weather outlooks have been issued by the National Weather Service.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A cold front is approaching. That's the good news. As it approaches, it will bring rain, plus the region could again experience severe thunderstorms with strong to damaging winds gusts.
The National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlooks for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.
In the mid-Hudson, there is a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening across the Interstate 90 corridor with a marginal risk for severe weather elsewhere across eastern New York and western New England. The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall.

In the lower valley, there is potential for a few strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday evening.
There are also chances of thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.

- Tuesday - Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. West winds around 5 mph.
- Tuesday night - Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 60s. Northwest winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
- Wednesday - Partly sunny. A chance of showers with isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. North winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
- Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 60s. Northeast winds around 5 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable.
- Thursday - Mostly cloudy. Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.
- Thursday Night - Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the mid 60s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
