Hudson Valley On Track For Next Phase Of Reopening
As the new coronavirus pandemic continues to subside in the Hudson region, the third phase covers food services and personal care.
NEW YORK, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the Hudson Valley, Long Island and New York City are all on track to enter the next phases of reopening businesses in the coronavirus era.
The Hudson region is expected to begin phase three Tuesday, followed by Long Island on Wednesday. New York City is on track to begin phase two of reopening businesses Monday, Cuomo said at his daily briefing Wednesday.
The third phase covers food services and personal care. It allows for limited indoor restaurant service and allows personal care businesses to resume operations, including tattoo and piercing facilities, appearance-enhancement practitioners, massage therapy, spas, cosmetology, nail specialty, UV and non-UV tanning, and waxing.

New York continues to see declining coronavirus-related hospitalizations and deaths, Cuomo said, unlike 20 other states that have seen increases. That's why he said he won't give in to pressure about reopening quicker.
"We don't change the rules for New York City, we don't change the rules for Long Island," Cuomo said.
