Temps could hit 100. Here are the latest details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Another extremely hot and humid day is forecast Thursday for the Hudson Valley.

"In the coastal mid-Atlantic, where the air will be the most humid, RealFeel Temperatures may range between 105 and 110 for a few hours," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

Could it be a record-breaking day? At the end of the valley, the hottest it has gotten so far this summer in Albany was 97 on several days in July.

"It is possible the New York state capital approaches the 100-degree mark on Thursday, which could surpass the record high temperature on Aug. 4 of 98 F set in 1955," Sosnowski said.

As of last week, much of the Hudson Valley was abnormally dry.

Abnormally dry is the first rank on the U.S. Drought Monitor. (U.S. Drought Monitor)

This week doesn't look to improve that. Even though scattered thunderstorms are possible across the region, the chance of rain is only 30 percent Tuesday and Thursday and 60 percent or less Friday and Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

"Unfortunately the warm temps and dry week ahead will continue the abnormally dry conditions for some," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Upper 80’s and low 90’s will be the theme, all building up to Thursday when temps may make a run at the century mark in the valley locations."
