Jewish Preschool of the Nyacks Receives Licensure

Upper Nyack, NY. Jewish Preschool of the Nyacks received licensure from
the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in February 2015.
This accreditation enables the young preschool, housed at Congregation
Sons of Israel, to accommodate 34 preschoolers and 12 toddlers for full
day programs.

Founded three years ago, the Jewish Preschool of the Nyacks began with
three children and one teacher, and has grown to three classrooms, five
teachers, and seventeen students. Rebecca Stiles, a preschool parent,
says of her son’s experience “Our son has thrived at the Jewish
Preschool of the Nyacks. He loves going to school every day, interacting
with his friends, and learning with his wonderful teachers. As parents,
we love the small class sizes, the patient and talented teachers, and
the opportunity to get to know other families in the community. Of
course we also love seeing our son so happy and excited to learn every
day.”

Currently a part-time program, Jewish Preschool of the Nyacks, with its
new licensure, plans to expand its capacity in terms of number of
students and instructional hours. The preschool offers high quality
early childhood education in a new facility that focuses on
socialization, fine and gross motor skills, awareness of society, Jewish
values, and academics. Specialists at the school enhance the program
through music, yoga, Torah, Shabbat, occupational therapy, and Hebrew.
