Just in Time for Pothole Season in Piermont, Nyack

The Rockland County Highway Department just bought an asphalt recycler.

The Rockland County Highway Department has purchased its first asphalt recycler, county officials say.

In an effort to save taxpayer money and the environment, municipalities across the nation are recycling asphalt and using their milling and waste material for road repairs.

Rockland’s $74,000 recycler will produce 2600 pounds of hot mix asphalt in as little as 15 minutes, at a fraction of the cost of buying new asphalt. The recycler is ideal for pothole patching, repairing utility trenches, water main breaks and all other types of asphalt repairs.
