Knife, Gun Assaults In Nyack Linked: Police

Five people went to hospitals.

NYACK, NY — Orangetown police detectives are investigating a series of assaults that took place Sunday in the early morning hours in Nyack.

At 2:40 a.m. in the vicinity of 65 Main St., a man was stabbed in the abdomen and another man was physically assaulted. Shortly afterward officers responded to a report of shots fired near Artopee Way. There they learned three men had been shot.

Two of the gunshot victims had gone to Nyack Hospital for treatment. One man had been shot in the face and was transferred to Westchester Medical Center. The other man had a wound in his abdomen. The two stabbing victims were taken to Nyack Hospital.

The third man who had been shot went to Good Samaritan Hospital and was treated for a bullet wound in his back.

Orangetown police are treating the incidents are related. They ask for any witnesses or anyone with video or photos to reach out to detectives at 845-359-2121.
