"Love Is In The Air" At Next Culinary Arts Center Cooking Class

The Food Enthusiast series in Nyack provides the ingredients, equipment and instructors so participants can make and enjoy a full meal.

NYACK, NY — Celebrate the season of love by signing up for a Food Enthusiast class at Rockland Community College's Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center.

The session, entitled "Love is in the Air," is the first in a series for 2022, as the center continues to teach students and offer classes to the public even though its popular cafe is closed while the college seeks another vendor partner. During Food Enthusiast sessions, participants watch demonstrations while enjoying appetizers, then prepare a main course, side dish and dessert. Afterward, couples will be able to enjoy their dinner by candlelight in the main dining room.

It's BYOB, so look at this menu and pick what you'd like to pair.

The class is 6:30-9 p.m. Feb. 17. It starts with snacks, and RCC provides all food, equipment, and supplies, plus instructors are on hand all the way through to offer assistance.

MAIN COURSE

  • Beef Wellington with Mushroom Duxelles or Salmon Wellington with Lemon Herb Goat Milk Cheese

SIDE DISHES

  • Confetti Quinoa
  • Grilled Asparagus

DESSERT

  • Dark Chocolate Ganache with Fresh Fruit and Grand Marnier or Kirschwasser

The community cooking classes are taught at the center, located at 70 Main Street in Nyack, NY. The cost is $75 per person. Beginner and experienced cooks are welcome. The Food Enthusiast Program has limited space and those interested are encouraged to register early.

The center is offering three other cooking classes in the spring.

Schedule:

  • Pasta Making - Thursday, March 10
  • Holiday Appetizers and Hors D’oeuvres - Thursday, April 7
  • Spring Special – Thursday, May 12
