Meetings Coming Up In Clarkstown, The Nyacks, Piermont, Orangetown

NYACK, NY — Dwight D. Eisenhower famously said, "Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Piermont and the Nyacks.

Clarkstown

Clarkstown Planning Board: 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Auditorium at Town Hall.
On the agenda are two public hearings:

• A proposed two lot subdivision with existing dwellings to remain. The property is located in West Nyack on .74 acres of R-15 zoned land on the south side of Demarest Avenue approximately 250 feet west of Strawtown Road.
• The proposed construction in Nanuet of a 34-space parking lot serving as an accessory use to the Culinary Depot’s headquarters on the adjoining lot which is located in the Village of Spring Valley. This also includes the formalization of a subdivision which was previously conveyed by deed. The property is located on .47 acres of MF-2 zoned land 150 feet northwest of the intersection of Pipetown Hill Road and S. Pascack Road.

Also on the agenda, the board will conduct an informal review of the approved site plan for Thruway Plaza in Nanuet to replace the approved hotel use with a four-story, 114,416 square foot self-storage facility on 6.66 acres on the northwest corner of the intersection of NYS Route 59 and NYS Thruway Interchange 14.

Nyack
