
Domingo Marrero, born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, October 16, 1921, went home to his God and to join his love of 64 years, his wife, Rosa, on Oct. 19, 2014. He lived in NYS since 1948 and in Nyack, since 1953. Domingo worked at Robert Gair (later known as Continental Can and then Federated Paperboard), in Piermont, NY and retired from Packaging Systems in Orangeburg, NY. He was treasurer of the Textile Workers Union of America for the Hudson Valley area for many years; was active in the Knights of Columbus, Haverstraw Council, and was president of the Nyack Center/Meals on Wheels til his death.
He is greatly missed by his children Miguel A. (Thilma) Perez of Fla., grandchildren Ema (Ronald ) Hale, Michele (Randy) Summers and Teresa (Steven) Marker, all of Fla.; Domingo (Maryellen) Marrero of Tuxedo, NY; grandchildren Heather of Cornwall, Sarah of Tuxedo, and Tanya (Michael) Depetris of North Carolina; daughter Rose (Michael) Valese of Fl.; grandchildren James (Melissa) Teneyck of Nanuet, Jon Teneyck of Blauvelt, Keith (Sharon) Teneyck of New City, Kristina Teneyck (William) Carbonari of Ridgefield, CT., Richard Teneyck, and Christopher (Brandy) Teneyck of Nyack; also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren, brothers Eddie and Hector of Puerto Rico, and sister Esther (Angel) Real of Fla.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nyack, NY on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nyack Senior Center, 90 Depew Ave. Nyack, NY 10960.
