Mondaire Jones Elected To House Leadership

Jones will serve as Freshman Representative to Leadership in the 117th Congress.

Today, Congressman-elect Mondaire Jones announced his unanimous election by the freshman class of the 117th Congress to the position of Freshman Representative to Leadership. This is the most influential role available to a freshman member of Congress. As a member of the House leadership team, Jones will meet weekly with House Majority leadership and serve as a spokesperson for the 15-person freshman class. Jones will also serve on the powerful House Steering and Policy Committee, which makes recommendations to the Speaker of the House regarding committee memberships and leadership, and assists the Democratic Caucus in policy development and implementation.
