Nyack Hospital Earns Leapfrog 'Full Transparency' Badge

NYACK, NY — A Hudson Valley hospital earned recognition for its commitment to being an open book when it comes to patient safety and care.

Montefiore Nyack Hospital has earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, a recognition from The Leapfrog Group for publicly reporting information about patient safety and quality through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

The badge is awarded to hospitals that complete, affirm and submit all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which it describes as one of the nation's leading voluntary reporting programs focused on patient safety, quality and transparency.

“Trust begins with transparency,” Montefiore Nyack Hospital Chief medical Officer Anthony Matejicka said. “We are deeply honored to be recognized by The Leapfrog Group for our commitment to sharing patient safety information and quality data openly with the community.”

The Leapfrog Group highlighted the role public reporting can play for patients and families.

The Full Transparency Badge appears on Leapfrog's public ratings website and identifies hospitals that have committed to openly sharing information about their performance. The hospital said this is not the first recognition it has received from The Leapfrog Group.
