Nyack Man Accused in Home, Gift Store Burglaries
Police say he stole a Herkimer Diamond.

NYACK, NY — A local man is accused of stealing a $1,300 diamond from a jewelry and gift store in Nyack, two days after he allegedly broke into an apartment in the village.
Vincent Berlingeri, 31, of South Franklin Street, faces charges of grand larceny and second-degree burglary.
Police allege he went through a window Saturday evening to enter an apartment at 50 S. Franklin and ransack it. He fled when the tenant returned home.

On Monday, he allegedly entered Iriniri on 95 Main St. at 5 p.m., opened a glass case, took out a Herkimer Diamond and fled.
(Herkimer Diamonds are double-terminated quartz crystals found in Herkimer, New York.)

Police canvassed the area and found him in the parking lot of Nyack Plaza and arrested him there. After processing he was sent to the Rockland County Jail.
