There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Pearl River, Piermont and the Nyacks.

The Town Board meets 7 p.m. Tuesday in Orangetown Town Hall
The Project Review Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenbush Auditorium to review items for the March 8 Planning Board meeting. The agenda is here.

Nyack
The village Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Village Hall.
Piermont
The village Board of Trustees will hold a grievance hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, which is the
deadline to submit and present Grievance of Assessed Property Values for the 2023 tax roll.
The board's regular meeting will start at 7 p.m. On the agenda: adding a pickleball court at the community center; requests for several event permits, and three climate actions.
