Nyack Resident Faces Misdemeanor Marijuana Charge

Police said he was carrying an ounce of marijuana in 12 small plastic bags.

NYACK, NY — A Nyack resident faces a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, Orangetown police report. Charles A Francois, 22, was arrested Jan. 24 after police say they found him in a car behind a building on Sickles Avenue at 10:45 p.m.

Police allege that a strong odor of burning marijuana emanated from the car. They also allege that Francois was carrying 30.4 grams of marijuana in 12 small plastic bags.

He is due in village court to answer the charge Feb. 8.
