Nyack Volunteer Honored with Point of Light Award

Frandy Osias-Louis received the award in a ceremony at Meals on Wheels, just one of the places where he volunteers.

NYACK, NY — Nyack volunteer Frandy Osias-Louis is the recipient of the prestigious Daily Point of Light Award from Points of Light.

Started in 1989 by President George H. W. Bush, more than 5000 awards have since been given out to movie stars, military veterans, elementary school students and single moms – who all share a single thing in common, their ability and potential to spark change in their community and inspire others to join them in service.

Frandy is being recognized with this once-in-a-lifetime award for his six-yearlong commitment to volunteering, including his service to nonprofits: Volunteer New York!, Soup Angels, Meals On Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, MidnightRun, and Habitat For Humanity.

He was honored at a small ceremony Sept. 20.
