Nyack Zoning Board Of Appeals Meets Monday In Village Hall

NYACK, NY — As the new year begins, our local officials are still busy conducting the public's business in plain sight.

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Nyack and Piermont.

The Nyack village Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. Monday in Village Hall to consider a variance turning 22 Catherine St. from a one-family house to a two-family house.

The Clarkstown Planning Board will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday on a proposed private girls' school for 420 students at 31-41 West Clarkstown Road. A scheduled ‘informal review’ did not take place Jan. 25.

The Orangetown Zoning Board of Appeals also meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, in the Greenbush Auditorium. On the agenda: public hearings about two applications from Blauvelt, one for an addition to a single-family house at 86 Yale Terrace and the other for an addition to a single-family house at 73 Harding Street.

The Orangetown Architectural Review Board meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.
