Annie Ruth Williams, age 71 of Central Nyack, passed away peacefully at Nyack Hospital among family and friends on Monday morning, April 15th. Annie was affectionately known as "Ruth." She was born in Opelika, AL. She proudly worked at and retired from Camp Venture. Ruth was a faithful member of St. Charles AME Zion Church, Sparkill, where she served as a Deaconess, the President of the Pastor's Aide, and many other ministries within the church. She is survived by her and two sons, James and Tyrone. She was predeceased by her loving husband, of 52 years, the Rev. James J. Williams and a son, Keith. She leaves behind a sister, Nellie Dumas, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing will be held on Monday, April 22, 6 pm - 9 pm and Tuesday, April 23, 9 am - 10:45 am at St. Charles AME Zion Church, Sparkill, followed by a Homegoing Celebration at 11 am at the church. Interment will take place at the Rockland County Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead. Arrangements handled by Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc., 88 S. Broadway Nyack, (845) 358-0573.
