Palisades WBL Raises $495 for Hudson Valley Humane Society

It was a hot, sunny, cloudless Sunday at the fields of Cottage Lane Elementary in beautiful Blauvelt, NY where 11 teams of friends, families and individuals with a passion for charity came together to play in the second annual Palisades Slow Pitch Tournament to benefit the Hudson Valley Humane Society.

A few surprise prizes were unveiled before play got started; 2012 Palisades WBL yearbooks were given out, free official Palisades WBL tees were given out, a Moonshot bat to the first person to hit a dinger, a GTSOH Bat to whomever hit the most homers on the day, as well as about 50% of the proceeds to the winner of the tournament.

Pretty sweet, eh?!

When it was all said and done, Team Guillod edged out Lo Siento, led by Brett Bevelacqua, 14-12 in the finals to take home a touch under 500 bucks. Guillod and his pal Nick were then left to figure out who got the bat as both hit an unfathomable 50 homers in seven games. As for the Moonshot, well the first pitch I served to Oliver Avallone’s friend Ryan took care of that.

Thank you to all who came through, donated and helped make the second annual Palisades Slow Pitch Tournament a complete success!
