Pedestrian Killed On Route 303
He was taken by Nyack EMS to Montefiore Nyack hospital, where he was pronounced dead later Wednesday night, Clarkstown police said.
WEST NYACK, NY — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 303 at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Clarkstown police were called to the busy road just south of the New York State Thruway. They found a man lying on the right shoulder on the northbound side near the gas station.

Officers attempted life-saving measures until Rockland Paramedics and Nyack EMS arrived and took over care. The injured man was taken by Nyack EMS to Montefiore Nyack hospital, where he was pronounced dead later Wednesday night.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene and displayed no signs of impairment, police said.
That portion of Rt 303 was closed for several hours during investigation and clean-up.

Police withheld the victim's name pending family notification.
