Brave souls braved the icy Hudson in the snow for a good cause

The 8th annual Penguin Plunge in Nyack’s Memorial Park at noon braved not only the icy Hudson River but also the latest snowstorm.
Penguin Plunge Inc helps the families of serious ill children in meeting their medical and support costs as they focus on their children’s health. The Penguin Plunge gives people the opportunity to take a memorable dip into the icy waters of the Hudson while raising money for a good cause.
This year it was for three seriously ill children: Khloe of Valley Cottage, Clara of Piermont and Brian from Sparkill.

And it’s not too late to donate or participate—such as at the Penguin Plunge Zumba party March 5. The organizers said on Facebook:
“We are so happy that the Plunge has been successfully accomplished, we want to dance. Renowned Zumba instructor Judith will lead a great class that will make you happy and give you a workout! Ditch the workout and joing the party at Tappan Zee HS. This event is sponsored by the TZHS Blauvelt Lions Leo Club and is only $10 for an hour of fun! Fabulous door prizes available and all proceeds will go to the Penguin Plunge in honor of Brian, Clara, and Khloe! Registration starts at 6:30! Call Judith for tickets or info 201-497-4007!”
