Police ID Pedestrian Killed In West Nyack
He was struck by a car on Route 303 Wednesday evening.
WEST NYACK, NY — Clarkstown police have identified the man who died after being struck by a car on Route 303 as Patrick O’Neill.
The 54-year-old Rockland resident was hit by a car going north at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. Preliminary investigation suggests he was starting to cross the street, police said.
Officers called to the scene near the gas station attempted life-saving measures until Rockland Paramedics and Nyack EMS arrived and took over care. O'Neill was taken by Nyack EMS to Montefiore Nyack hospital, where he was pronounced dead later Wednesday night.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him remained at the scene and displayed no signs of impairment, police said.
Part of Route 303 was closed for several hours during investigation and clean-up of the scene.
