Police: Stolen Car, Xanax and Threats
A couple were sent to the Rockland County Jail after an Orangetown officer IDd the car they were in as one reported stolen in Ramapo.

Orangetown police arrested two people Jan 7 after they were stopped on Depew Avenue in Nyack by an officer who discovered the car had been reported stolen.
Police also allege the driver, Wali K. Khan, 31, of Monticello, threatened the arresting officer as he was being booked.
An Orangetown officer was using an automated license plate reader, which made the connection between the 2001 Toyota and an alert issued by Ramapo Police after it was reported stolen Dec. 28.

Khan and Erin M. Atkinson, 29, of Airmont were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
Khan was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, second-degree harassment, a violation, and third-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Atkinson was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was found with several Xanax pills.
They were ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $10,000 bail, each.
