Rockland Conservation Corps Completes Summer Projects
23 local residents made up this year's corps, working on everything from flooding mitigation to hiking trails.

The 23 Conservation Corps members gathered yesterday in the County’s Legislative Chambers to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments this summer at seven site placements throughout Rockland.
The 2015 projects included the maintenance and construction of walking and hiking trails within County parks, drainage and flooding mitigation on behalf of several towns and villages, recycling initiatives with the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority, developing Hudson River fish advisories with Cornell Cooperative Extension and community development efforts in the Village of Haverstraw.
The college students (who call Rockland County home) made final presentations, including demonstrations and videos, that showcased the Conservation Corps’ summer of service to Rockland County.
