Rockland County Elections 2021: Day Trounces Challenger

The results are unofficial until certified.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — In 2021, a contested election for county executive was at the top of the campaign season, but there were contested races in Clarkstown and Orangetown as well.

UPDATE: As of 11:37 p.m. the Rockland County Board of Elections had begun reporting results again. At 11:19 p.m. the BOE had set all results for Clarkstown and Orangetown races to zero.

Totals were reported in the county executive race, where the Board of Elections reported incumbent County Executive Ed Day trounced Democrat L'Tanya M. Watkins.

  • Ed Day: 14,210
  • L'Tanya M. Watkins: 4,827

New City Patch covered Clarkstown, where three of the four town council seats were contested, as were town supervisor, town clerk and town justice. Bob Milone was unchallenged in his run for Highway Superintendent.

Pearl River Patch covered Orangetown, where a three-way race for two Town Council seats pitted incumbent Thomas Diviny and Brian Donohue on the Republican and Conservative lines against Democrat Lisa DeFeciani. The supervisor, town clerk and town justice races were unopposed.
