Rockland County Warming Center Opening As Cold Weather Looms
There will be four pickup locations for transportation to the shelter in Nyack, Haverstraw, Spring Valley and Pomona.

NEW CITY, NY — As the weather slowly turns wintery, officials and civic leaders have already started plans to make sure no one is left out in the cold this season.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Commissioner of Social Services Joan Silvestri announced that the Rockland County Warming Center will be opening next week. Catholic Charities will once again be operating the Warming Center for up to 75 homeless single adults at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center in Pomona.
"This Warming Center will continue to help our most vulnerable residents in Rockland remain warm and safe," said Day. "I am immensely proud of this effort and our partnership with Catholic Charities. Guests are offered a warm place to rest, showers, and laundry services with staff available to assist with benefits and referrals."
