Rockland Man Tries To Strangle Woman, Gets Arrested: Police

Police said he threatened to kill her.

ORANGEBURG, NY — The Orangetown Police arrested an Orangeburg man March 28 who allegedly tried to strangle a woman. Police said Carl Canzona, 30, of Orangeburg, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

Around 10:23 a.m. March 27, Canzona grabbed a woman around her neck, threatened to kill her and pushed her to the ground while they were at his residence, police said.

He turned himself in to the police and was arraigned in the Orangetown Justice Court.

Canzona was taken to the Rockland County Jail after he was unable to make bail.
