Casting Call: 100 Young Baseball Players For Feature Film

Producers said they are looking for players with all skill levels.

BREWSTER, NY — If you are a kid who's been on a baseball field and is between 10 and 13, now’s your chance to be an extra in a movie. The feature film “TWELVE” needs about 100 young baseball players for various scenes in the movie, according to production information for the movie.

Producers said they are looking for players with all skill levels, as well as size, shape and ethnicity. “If you’ve ever stepped onto a baseball field before, you’re qualified for the film,” they said.

Auditions will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at Mt. Scolpino Park, 115 Doansburg Rd. in Brewster.

Filming will take place primarily in the Brewster area between July 25 and August 15. Other locations in Putnam or Dutchess County may be used depending on field availability and suitability.

Most players/extra will only need to participate in one day of filming. About 40 players — mainly 12- and 13-year-olds — will be selected for three to four days of shooting

Casting personnel said there will be handful of speaking roles and interest in being considered should be indicated on the application. And some parents might be considered for extras.
