Scenes for Stonewall Movie Shot in Nyack
The Stonewall riots were a seminal point in the gay liberation movement.

Scenes for a new film about the Stonewall riots in the 1960s were shot in Nyack over the weekend.
The independent movie “SissyMan” uses the riots, a seminal point in the gay liberation movement, to tell the story of a pair of teen lovers who find themselves on opposite sides of the event, reports The Journal News.
Filmmakers used Nyack Fitness on South Franklin Street to shoot extra re-enacting the riots, and those scenes will be added to others using “green screen” movie special effects.
