NYACK, NY — Filmmaker Michael Moore once said, "Democracy is not a spectator sport, it's a participatory event. If we don't participate in it, it ceases to be a democracy."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Piermont and the Nyacks.
