Tugboat Collision at Tappan Zee Bridge: Second Crew Member's Body Recovered (Update)

The deadly accident happened near the new Tappan Zee Bridge construction.

As the search continues on the Hudson River in the aftermath of the tugboat crash Saturday, a second body was recovered Sunday morning.

The third crew member is still missing and presumed dead, according to an article on lohud.com.

The crew member recovered from the water Saturday was identified as Paul Amon, 52, of Bayville, NJ.

The tugboat the three crew members was on hit a barge that was part of the Tappan Zee Bridge Construction project.

The tug sank within minutes.

There were no injuries to the 13 workers who were on the barge.

Lohud.com also said the barge that sank—the Specialist—is part of a lawsuit a deckhand filed claiming he was injured when the boat was pushing a barge on the Hudson in 2015.

The suit was settled, lohud.com said, and the terms were not disclosed.
