Senator Carlucci cuts ribbon for Piermont Historical Society's newly-renovated train station

On Saturday, June 17th, Senator Carlucci was on hand to re-dedicate the historic landmark located at 50 Ash Street in Piermont.

Senator David Carlucci, who was instrumental in securing a grant to restore the Piermont train station, cut the ribbon and officially re-opened it. Those who came to the station on Saturday took a step back in time and met Stationmaster Belle Kelly. Children were shown how to tap out a message on telegraph keys in Morse code. They hopped on board the Piermont Express Locomotive and when they took the history challenge inside the station, they became junior stationmasters. The restored train station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is situated along the Old Erie Path overlooking the majestic Hudson River.
