Shoplifting Incident at Lord and Taylor in West Nyack

The two suspects are 66 and 27, police said.

A report of shoplifting at Lord and Tayor Dec. 14 sent Clarkstown police to the Palisades Mall in West Nyack.

A loss prevention employee told police she observed two women remove security devices from clothing, stuff the clothing down their pants and leave the store without paying.

The employee, a West Nyack resident, tried to stop the suspects, and struggled with one of them. The second tried to flee. Both were caught by the responding officers.

The employee was not injured.

Police identified the suspects as Courtney Campbell, 27, of Hopewell Junction, NY and Francis Allen, 66, of New Windsor, NY. The stolen merchandise was valued at $593.70.

They were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Campbell was found to be in possession of a small wrapper containing alleged heroin.

Campbell was charged with robbery 3rd (felony), petit larceny (misdemeanor), possession of burglar tools (misdemeanor), criminal possession of stolen property 5th (misdemeanor) and criminal possession of controlled substance 7th (misdemeanor).

Allen was charged with petit larceny (misdemeanor) and possession of burglar tools (misdemeanor).

Allen was released on an appearance ticket and will return to court Jan. 5. Campbell was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $4,000. She was transported to the Rockland County Jail, and is due back in town court Dec. 17.
