Snow Expected Friday; Hudson Valley Forecast Still Unsettled

Forecasts range from 1-6 inches as the probability that the storm will hit our region increases.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Meteorologists are predicting that the Hudson Valley could see a few inches of snow on Friday from a storm coming up the East Coast, but the forecast is anything but sure.

"At this point, we wouldn’t recommend any change from the ‘wait and see’ approach," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Remember, the reason for us highlighting this system is not because it’s likely to be a major event… it’s because the storm potential is generating a ‘buzz’ online and in the community, and we want to help put that ‘buzz’ into perspective."

The National Weather Service now predicts 1-3 inches, but AccuWeather thinks the Hudson Valley could see 3-6 inches.

AccuWeather also says the coming storm could affect a much larger area of the Northeast than the one that started the week and left hundreds of drivers stranded for more than 18 hours along Interstate 95 in Virginia.
