Son Of Woman Killed In Hit-and-Run Starts GoFundMe Campaign

Police are seeking any video of vehicles on Route 9W from 3:30 - 4 a.m. Saturday.

NYACK, NY — The son of Katrina Grigsby of Nyack, who died walking on Route 9W early Saturday, has begun a GoFundMe campaign in the wake of the hit-and-run.

"There is no comparison to a Mother's love, unending, enduring, unconditional, everlasting … And unfortunately gone way too soon," Khasyi Grigsby wrote on GoFundMe, adding that she had and taught her son a strong work ethic and strong family values.

His wish is to fulfill his mother’s dream of sending him to college.

Police said they were called to the intersection of Route 9W and Rockland Lake North by a northbound driver who stopped when he saw the victim lying on the roadway. The would-be Good Samaritan saw a second vehicle strike Grigsby, police said.

That vehicle also left the scene but was later located in Haverstraw. The driver has charges pending, police said.

Police ask anyone who may have been in the area and has additional information, or possibly video of any passing vehicles from 3:30 - 4 a.m., to contact the department at (845) 639-5800.
