Sparkill American Legion Memorial Day Parade 2016
Memorial Day is a good day to reflect on those who gave their lives leaving behind their loved ones.
Many mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and children remember the empty chair at the table. Today is not just another day off or just another holiday; it is a day to remember the American heroes who sacrificed their own lives for our freedom.
We must remember to give thanks for what we are blessed with; a great country, the United States of America.
Warren Kaiser, PCC, an American veteran and Rockland County American Legion Adjutant said “Memorial Day is an opportunity to acknowledge what is felt most deeply but expressed the least.”

Murray Cohen, a past commander of American Legion Post 57 said, “God loves the Veteran. The sunlight and sunshine came out for the Sparkill Parade.”
Sparkill American Legion and American veterans came out to attend the flag ceremony. Boy Scouts of America Pack 88 marched in the parade as many residents enjoyed the beautiful sunny day of 83 degrees. We thank the American Legion and the Sparkill and Rockland community for showing up on this remarkable Memorial Day.
