SUEZ Gives To United Way Rockland County Coronavirus Crisis Fund

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — SUEZ North America announced Friday it was donating to the Rockland County Coronavirus Crisis Fund. The company gave $20,000 to help Rockland County residents severely impacted by the new coronavirus pandemic. The fund is administered by United Way of Rockland County.

“Our neighbors are facing loss of jobs and suspended benefits making it difficult for them to afford basic needs like rent, food and other essentials,” said Dana Treacy, UWRC president and CEO.

“This generous donation from SUEZ will enable us to continue to help families with essential needs while they are out of work and struggling to put their lives back together.” she said.

According to a spokesperson, SUEZ North America is responding to the unprecedented nature of this pandemic and the long-lasting economic and public health challenges that are emerging in Rockland County.

“We are redirecting our philanthropic focus during this crisis from major environmental initiatives to helping those charitable organizations serving on the front lines who require immediate, substantial, and sustained assistance,” said Nadine Leslie, CEO of SUEZ North America.

The Rockland County Coronavirus Crisis Fund has helped thousands of residents since the pandemic began. The fund has helped connect families and individuals to resources providing assistance with rent and utilities, access to food, discounted prescriptions or providing funding for childcare for essential workers, a spokesperson said.
