American pianist Michael Noble gave his first recital when he was six and has gone on to perform concerts across Europe, Asia, and North America. A prizewinner of numerous competitions including the Gold Medal at the Crescendo Music Awards (Tulsa, OK) in 2009, and two-time laureate of the Chopin International Competition of the 1000 Islands, his piano trio, the Noble Trio recently garnered two awards from the Plowman International Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, MO. The trio was hailed by the Columbia Daily Tribune as the "top musical moment of the 2011 season in Columbia, MO." This past March, he made his debut with the Tulsa Symphony under Maestro Gisele Ben-Dur.
Upon his graduation from the Idyllwild Arts Academy (Idyllwild, CA), Mr. Noble was awarded the Outstanding Musician Award of 2005-2006. In 2008 he attended the Paris Conservatoire to work with Nicholas Angelich. Other mentors with whom he has worked include Gary Graffman, Claude Frank, John O’Conor, Christopher Elton, John Perry, Joseph Kalichstein and Marie-François Bucquet.
Mr. Noble obtained his BM in Piano Performance and BA in English cum laude from the Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester respectively where he was a student of Nelita True. He received his MM at the Yale School of Music in May working with Peter Frankl. Currently he is pursuing his MMA (pre-DMA) at Yale.
