Swank Innovative Egg Rolls Making Its Mark in Food Circles One Bite at a Time

New food vendor brings restaurant-quality food to festivals through a variety a flavors

The warm weather has finally arrived and that signals the start of festival season in the Northeast. This year, however, there is a new kid on the block that is pleasing the taste buds of countless satisfied customers and it could be coming to an event near you!

Swank Innovative Egg Rolls is bringing restaurant-quality food to festivals through a variety a flavors. From beef and pulled pork to crab meat and jerk chicken, there is a something for everyone and it is most definitely not your conventional egg roll.

“I wanted to bring to the table a dish that was both unique and tasteful,” suggested Jeff Kuczynski, executive chef and founder of Swank Innovative Egg Rolls, a traveling gourmet food vendor that caters to customers all throughout the Northeast. “It is a craft that is most certainly driven by passion.”

Jeff Kuczynski, a graduate of the prestigious French Culinary Institute of New York City wanted to create a dish that was both unique and tasteful.

Kuczynski came up with the idea as he was working as an event manager for Wild Bill’s Olde Fashioned Soda last year while attending more than three dozen different festivals and shows. Although his aspirations for becoming a restaurateur date long before this and his decade of experience in the restaurant industry should lead to success.

He realized that the food creation had to be something that was easy to eat on the go, yet universally recognizable regardless of the market. At the same time, he wanted to something that had the ‘wow factor.’

The gourmet egg roll company, which is being backed largely with the help of his wife, Sofia and mother, Gerri meets the criteria and passes with flying colors.

“When you see egg rolls with a different twist at these festivals, it definitely is something that peaks your interest,” suggested Stephen Rubino, a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, who estimates that he will attend in the ballpark of 10 festivals this year. “I ordered ‘The Korean’ and I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful it was in each bite. I hope to see them at the next festival because I still have to try the other three flavors.”

'The Southern'

Currently there are four tasty options on the menu, each of which comes with a dipping sauce to compliment the entrée:

  • The Korean: Bulgogi marinated beef, caramelized onions, sauteed peppers, provolone cheese w/ chef's specialty "Seoul" sauce
  • The Island: Jerk chicken, mango chutney, fried plantain w/ orange sweet chili glaze
  • The Southern: Root beer BBQ pulled pork, three-cheese mac & cheese w/ honey and siracha ketchup
  • The Maryland: Lump meat crab cake, fried potato and roasted corn hash w/ creole remoulade

“I take great pride in creativity and thinking outside-the-box to come up with great-tasting entrees,” added Kuczynski, a graduate of the prestigious French Culinary Institute in New York City, who is always thinking about the next great food combination. “Hearing such positive feedback from customers is a satisfaction that is hard to describe It is something that motivates me to succeed and fuels the inspiration to create my next great dish.”

His alma matter is the same culinary institute that elite restaurateurs such as Bobby Flay, a renowned celebrity chef and food television personality host attended. Other successful chefs to emerge out of the institute include David Chang, Dan Barber, Wylie Dufresne, and Christina Tosi, to name a few.

Over the last month, Swank Innovative Egg Rolls has marked its territory with foodies at a variety of events including the East Coast Comicon (Secaucus, NJ), the Highland Park Street Festival, and Nyack SpringFest Street Fair. Pro wrestling legend Kevin Nash, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame is among the many satisfied customers.

This upcoming weekend, you can catch them on the road at the Woodbridge Street Fair on Sat., May 20 and the Nyack Famous Street Fair on Sun., May 21.
