The question is, can a 6 foot tall frog teach music to children? According to award-winning children’s musician, certified music therapist and Upper Nyack resident, Jeffrey Friedberg MA, MT-BC, the answer is a resounding YES!
Starting in September 2013, Jeffrey & The Bossy Frog will offer early childhood music classes in the Nyacks and Darien, CT. The classes will be geared towards teaching music to children 18 months – 6 years old. Jeffrey stresses that the goal of the classes is to use singing, movement and instrument playing to help children develop a life-long love of music along with basic music skills.
“Active music making has been shown to help children grow in so many important ways including motor skills development, social skills development, self esteem, cognitive skills and language skills,” stresses Jeffrey. And in continuing his partnership with The Bossy Frog, the loveable costume character frog will reinforce Jeffrey’s teaching through encouraging children to actively participate in classes. “This will be a totally fun, imaginative and creative class that kids and their caregivers will love as they learn,” says Jeffrey.
