Valentines For Soldiers With Love From Nyack Ridge
Nyack Ridge and its residents have created over 3,600 hand-crafted hearts that will be delivered to active duty and returning soldiers.
From Nyack Chamber: The Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is gearing up to send a whole lot of love to our Armed Services men and women stationed overseas and in the U.S. Partnering with local schools, charities, churches and veterans' organizations, Nyack Ridge and its residents have created over 3,600 hand-crafted hearts that will be delivered to active duty and returning soldiers.
The Valentine's Day "Hearts for Soldiers" salute to the military kicked off on February 7 at Nyack Ridge. New York State Assembly Member Kenneth Zebrowski and NY State Senate District Representative Daniel Cohen joined Mike McWilliams, Veteran Services of Rockland County, and Bill Batson, Nyack Chamber of Commerce, in a special ceremony honoring our service members. As part of the ceremony, Zabrowski presented a Resolution celebrating the life of 102-year old Nyack Ridge resident Assunta Lombardi, who was accompanied by her son John Lombardi.
Retired veterans and a children's chorus from Strawtown Elementary School also made important contributions to the event. Josephine Andaloro, Director of Therapeutic Recreation/ Volunteers at Nyack Ridge, organized the project and managed the day's festivities. Nyack Ridge, located at 476 Christian Herald Road in Valley Cottage, was formerly known as Nyack Manor. New owners Michael and Edward Braunstein, supported by Administrator Josh Lowinger, are undertaking important renovations and new programs.

"We're excited about our future, and dedicated to providing top quality care to our residents in a warm, family-friendly environment." "We welcome Nyack Ridge to the community," said Roger Cohen, President of the Nyack Chamber. "It's a special pleasure to support the Hearts for Soldiers project. We wish Nyack Ridge well, and join with them in thanking our soldiers and veterans for their service to our country, and the many sacrifices they make on our behalf."
