Visitation, Service are Oct. 30 for Leica Jo-Ann Williams

She was 60.

Leica Jo-Ann Williams was born on November 4th, 1953 in the Bronx, New York to her parents, Herbert Williams and Maud Spratley Williams.

Leica graduated from Monroe High School in the Bronx, and then she attended Iona College in New Rochelle where she received an Associate degree in Social Sciences, specializing in health administration. Leica furthered her education by attending the Mandl School where she earned a Media Assistant certificate, in addition to receiving a Total Quality Management certificate from New York University. Leica strongly believed in the power of education to advance her wisdom – and her wisdom was rich beyond her years. Leica held management level positions with several companies, including the Leak Watts Group, Nyack Hospital and Target, Inc., just to name a few. She thoroughly enjoyed her associates and work colleagues, and they in turn highly respected and admired her.

Leica was one of the very first members of Savior Community Church, having joined the congregation shortly after its founding. She served as a trustee and treasurer on the very first Savior Community Church Council. Leica also served for may years as the leader of the Church’s host team. As a warm greeter and usher, she was often the first person people met when they visited Savior Community Church.

Leica loved telling jokes and funny stories, and those stories often made family members and friends laugh so hard that tears streamed down their faces! Also, she was a video game queen who quickly mastered all games she played.

Leica enjoyed traveling to places far and near. But she especially loved going to Cape May on New Jersey’s south shore where Leica swam in the Atlantic Ocean, in hotel pools and just generally cherished her time there with family and friends.

Leica truly loved her son Sean Williams, along with other family and life long friends. But everyone and everything temporarily faded into the background when she was around her granddaughter, Jourdan. Leica and Jourdan had a special bond and close connection.

Leica Jo-Ann Williams was a joy to be around, and her spirit and memory will be with us all always. She will be greatly missed!
